The concept of “starting over” was recently written in the Yoga Journal.
As the new season of Summer (Fall, Winter or Spring - take your pick) begins again, we are reminded that we can start over and continue to make progress with becoming a healthier person. If you want to make lasting changes in your life, practice “starting over”. How do you do that? Practice, practice, practice. To build this capacity of starting over:
- Be mindful and observe what happens when you waste time feeling discouraged, indulging or escaping into your restless mind.
- Select a few small aspects of your daily life that you want to change and begin to practice starting over. Say to yourself “Yes, I got lost and now I’ll just start over.”
- Finally, let meditation or prayer be your laboratory for training your mind to think and respond in a new way.
